My name is Sandra Lawrence. I am South American (Guyanese) and a British Citizen. I am married with two grown up children. I have been practising counselling and psychotherapy for more than 14 years and I work with adults and teenagers. As most of my work has been in the NHS, I have a wide range of experience working with people from different cultures, and people with health related problems.
Counselling is a strictly confidential service. It involves a person talking about their troubles to a trained counsellor/psychotherapist. Counsellors are trained to listen in a special way and to assess what is causing the client distress and offer help by way of listening, giving feedback, making analysis of what is being said etc. to help you move on in life. I am trained as a counsellor and psychotherapist to work in general counselling and psychotherapy. My background is in healthcare. I have worked as a nurse and midwife in women’s health and gynaecology. I can help patients with any of the following problems:

Apart from my nursing and midwifery registration. I am registered on the UKRC the UK register for counsellors. I am also registered with the UKCP, the UK council for psychotherapists. I am an accredited member, with senior practitioner status with the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). I am also a member of the British Infertility Association.
My counselling Code of practice is the BACP. For infertility counselling, I follow the British Infertility Counselling Association code of practice.
I offer coaching and training courses to health care professionals in management of pregnancy losses and in communication skills.
